You must activate your Akimbo Card before it can be used for purchases or at ATMs.
However, you can load your card with a bank transfer or direct deposit and send and receive money with other Akimbo Cards before receiving or activating your Akimbo Card.
You are able to activate your card by calling 1-855-9-AKIMBO (855-925-4626), and using the automated system or speaking to a representative. You can also activate your card by simply logging into your online dashboard and clicking the "Activate Card" button. You will need to provide the full card number, as well as some verification during activation.
Keep in mind that you must also activate all sub-account Akimbo Cards before they can be used for purchases. You can activate these by logging in to your primary account and clicking the "Sub-Card" tab on the dashboard menu bar. You are then able to select a particular sub-card, and activate the card by clicking the "Activate" button.
